​Fred Nitzman is a tattoo artist whose journey from traditional art to the tattoo industry reflects a deep passion for creativity and craftsmanship. Born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, Fred’s artistic talents were nurtured from an early age through continuous drawing and formal art education. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), where he specialized in painting and graphic design. This strong foundation has greatly influenced his unique approach to tattooing.

After graduating, Fred worked extensively in graphic design, where his experience sharpened his eye for detail, composition, and color theory—skills that later became vital in his tattoo work. His introduction to tattooing came through attending several conventions, a crucial step that helped him understand the artistry and techniques behind successful tattoos. Initially, transferring his designs from paper onto skin was a challenging process, but through persistence and evolving skill, Fred mastered this demanding craft. He welcomes complex projects that challenge his abilities and enjoys the continuous growth his profession offers.

Fred’s career spans several locations, including over five years in Columbia, South Carolina; a year in Pensacola, Florida; and since 2015, Tampa, Florida, where he has been cultivating a loyal clientele. Throughout his journey, he has trained under skilled tattoo artists, constantly seeking inspiration and collaboration within the tattoo community.
